Call for Proposals

CPA Convention, 2014
Vancouver, BC, June 5-7

It’s that time of year! The call for submissions for the Canadian Psychological Association’s 75th Annual Convention (Thurs June 5 to Sat June 7, 2014) in Vancouver, BC, has gone out. The deadline for proposal submissions is December 1st 2013 (http://www.cpa.ca/convention/callforsubmissions/).

The History and Philosophy of Psychology (HPP) Section is seeking individual oral paper presentations, symposia, and also welcomes cross-sectional proposals on a broad range of topics. (Note: Please contact one of the Program Chairs – Marissa Barnes (marisbar@yorku.ca) or Patric Plesa (patricplesa@rogers.com) – if you would like your proposal to be considered for cross-listing with another Section.)

We are pleased to announce our Section Keynote Speaker Jack Martin, Professor of History, Quantitative, and Theoretical Psychology at Simon Fraser University (http://www.psyc.sfu.ca/people/index.php?topic=finf&id=117). The title of Jack’s presentation is “The Changing Face of Theoretical Psychology” where he will discuss the social and historical turn in recent theoretical and philosophical work conducted by psychologists.

We hope to put together a dynamic program for our Section, and we look forward to receiving your submissions.

With best wishes

Marissa & Patric
Program Co-Chairs CPA-HPP
